Return to The Dante Dreams Project

The poet feels awakens,
feels gnawed from within
as if Ugolino or Satan
feasts on his ego.

He rests, and the voice returns:
Do you ever grow weary
of the weight of your cloak:
vanity worn like hammered mail?
You’re soon to meet that sin again….
